Quarantine Procedure for Inbound Travelers
Mandatory quarantine no longer required
As of June 8, 2022, regardless of one's vaccination record or visa status, all inbound travelers to the Republic of Korea are now exempt from quarantine. However, those with positive test results MUST quarantine.
Prior to Entry into the Republic of Korea
All inbound travelers are required to receive either a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test within 48 hours (2 days), or a rapid antigen test (RAT) for professional medical use within 24 hours (1 day), of midnight on the date of departure for the Republic of Korea. They are then required to submit the negative test results for either test within the time period mentioned above.
Both Koreans and non-Koreans without negative test results, including those seen as being unfit for travel, are restricted from boarding any flights, regardless of vaccination history.
Following Entry into the Republic of Korea (Health Screening)
All inbound travelers must fill out a health questionnaire, as well as receive a body temperature check, using thermal cameras and/or an infrared digital ear thermometer.
Q-Code: Quarantine COVID-19 Defense
All inbound travelers must use the online Q-Code system to enter their health information and receive a QR code in order to be provided with a rapid health screening.
Daily Hygiene & Safety Protocol
Despite social-distancing requirements being entirely removed from April 18, 2022, in the Republic of Korea, it is of the utmost importance for everyone to wash their hands regularly and maintain mask use when necessary, as well as maintaining other hygienic practices, in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in daily life.
